I purchased two of these phones as replacments for my grandparents aging phones that were due to be unsupported at the end of 2019. These new phones were almost identical to what they had, and I had zero trouble getting Verizon to activate them with SIM cards I also purchased, and Verizon let them keep their ancient plan they were grandfathered into, and didn't charge any kind of activation fee.

Good upgrade from a standard flip phone. Very durable!

This phone is the perfect replacement for the previous phone my husband owned. He needed a phone that could talk to him, and because of visual challenges, the iPhone was not practical. Works like a charm

I bought this phone because Verizon is phasing out 3G as of the end of 2019. I have been noticing a degradation of the 3G signal over the last few months and decided it was time to move up to 4G LTE. I am very tough on phones and as an old Luddite I still prefer a real flip phone to a smart phone. I also do have a smartphone but I use it only for text and internet access.
I have had all the iterations of the Samsung Convoy and a Casio Gzone. I have had the phone for about 6 months and I really do like it. It takes a bit to get use to it but is is well built, rugged, and good battery life. It also supports wi-fi calling. I give it 5 stars
How we verify and process reviews
We use Loox, a web-based application that provides an online reviews and marketing solution, to collect, source, process and display reviews on our website.
We automatically send review requests through Loox to customers for whom we have a record that they purchased products directly from our website. This allows us to verify the review’s reliability through technical means, such as the customer’s email address. Reviews that are submitted directly through such requests are marked as "Verified purchase" and the following statement will be displayed on the interface on which the review is published: "This review was collected from a verified customer who purchased this item”.
If a customer submits a review directly through our website, the review will not be marked as verified, and the following statement will be displayed on the interface where the review is published: “This review was written by a site visitor”.
Reviews may also be imported into Loox from an external source. For imported reviews, the following statement will be displayed on the interface on which the review is published: "This review was imported from an external source".
We may verify reviews submitted directly through our website and imported reviews using reasonable and proportionate methods, such as by requesting valid proof that the customer had actually used or purchased the product. In these cases, if we mark a review as "Verified purchase", the following statement will be displayed on the interface on which the review is published: "This review was marked as verified by the store owner".
Customers can choose how to rate the reviewed products based on a number between 1 and 5. The reviews’ average score is calculated using a simple mathematical average, which is then rounded to a half or full star rating using standard rounding rules. The reviews’ average score includes reviews for which customers received future purchase discounts for adding a photo or a video to their review.

Kyocera manufactures different versions of this indestructible phone for varios big cell providers. But this one, the Dura XV LTE I believe is the only one that is WIFI capable. At least that is what I found in my research. So, if you like to explore where cell coverage is spotty but you have access to WIFI, this little flip phone will do the job. If you are tethered to Verizons cheapo, $30, prepay plan with only 500MB data then having WIFI capability is a great feature. Not that you'd be surfing the web with it's crude browser and controls, but if you absolutely need to check e-mail, lookup maps, etc., then you can do it no problem.
Bottom line, if like mytself, your sick and tired of replacing a smart phone every 12-18 months because of drops, water, or paranoia of either happening while you are enjoying the great outdoors then this is the phone you want. And if your sick and tired of having a complicated world at your fingertips and want to rid yourself of the smart phone but still need web access then this too does that. You just do it much, much less because it's not as easy! These are all the things that I wanted. I'm happy to be rockin' a flip phone once again!
